extend conditional formatting

Hi.

I'm trying to extend my conditional formatting to the entire spreadsheet.

i'm using a formula: =not(isblank(b13))
I'm putting that conditional formatting on A13.

Is there a way to get it easily to all the rows in the spreadsheet? the entire row can be filled, it doesn't need to be just the A cell...

A few ways:

1) Click on A13, then select conditional formatting, Manage Rules, change the "Applies to" to whatever you want.
2) Click on A13, click on format painter, left click and drag the mouse to select all other rows that you want to be conditionally formatted as well.

i should have been more clear, my apologies.

I need a14 to be conditionally formatted with the fomula =not(isblank(b14))
a15 to be conditionally formatted with the formula =not(isblank(b15))

and so on.

is there a way to not have to make the conditional formatting for each and every row?

Have you tried my suggestions? That is exactly what they do.

it did work! it just highlights everything when i do that...but then i can hit delete in the b column and it starts working correctly...

You're welcome. Did that solve it for you? It should highlight every row in column A where the corresponding row in column B is not blank.
