extend formulas when pivot table length changes?

I have a pivot table, and then a column of vlookup formulas referring to it, to the right.
rather than have vlookups in every cell in that column (i want to keep my file size down) - i would like the formulas to extend to the end of the pivot table, and match it if changed when refreshed.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
You can use code in the worksheet's pivottableupdate event for this. What is the formula you want?

Maybe not relevant, but perhaps you can use a query table instead of a pivot table? It has an option to fill down formulas automatically. So the formulas extend automatically with refreshing the query table. (This then doesn't need VBA.)

However a query table does not have the wonderful dynamic flexibility of a pivot table.

I realize this is an old post, but did anyone ever find a solution? I am in the same situation, and I am working with a lot of pivot tables and rows of data, so I as hoping to find a less manual way.
