Extending a series of external links using autofill???

Hi,

I have a master sheet with external links to data in cells within different sheets. I have linked across the 1st few columns in the series manually. I then thought I'd be able to highlight the existing manually entered series and then extend the series by pulling the drag handle across into the adjacent cell. All it is doing is repeating the entries i.e. copying them in the order I have manually entered. What I actually want is for the data within the cell ='[Manning forecast - Well Interventions.xls]POB'!$D$35) to increment the column label by one each time I drag across one cell. eg I want the next cell in the master sheet to contain ='[Manning forecast - Well Interventions.xls]POB'!$E$35

Is this possible or is there some other fiendishly clever way to do it that doesn't involve me enetering the link change in manually for each cell in the master sheet.

Many thanks in advance...
