Hello,

Guys I am having an issue with a formula that makes reference to an external workbook. The formula in book A works when book B is open. But when I close the book, and try to run the formula again, it stops working.

Is there a way for this to work without both books being open?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Better post your formula. Some functions, such as INDIRECT, won't work with closed workbooks.

I am using Index for the formula.

The formula is INDEX('\\Main folder\folder\Card RECEIVED\Master List.xlsx'!Table1[Card Number],MATCH([Midas ID / Affiliate acct. '#],'\\Main folder\folder\Card RECEIVED\Master List.xlsx'!Table1[Account],0)
