Hello all,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

For several days, in different workbooks and with different databases, I have been trying to pull data from Access queries into Excel. The headers com in, but there is no record data that follows.

I make a new blank workbook>> Data >> feom Access >> navigate to database >> select the query >> select table >> $A$1 >> OK

I get the headers and an empty 2007 table with pretty blue lines, but no data.

I know that I was having trouble in Access VBA when Excel was not being referenced so I had to go into VBE>>Tools>>Preferences (or something like that) and set up Excel.

Thank you all for your help.

Can you import just a Table ( instead of a query )?

Thanks Glenn. Nice of you to answer.

I guess I could. But why must I?

If I already have a query that collects my data for me it should work. (I know, "should" is a useless word). Kind of frustrating is all.

It is just that there is more work involved.

I guess I have to turn the query into a make table table query, right?

How do I delete and rebuild the table each time I run the query? Or does that happen automatically?

I will try this in a couple of hours when I get to work.

I'm not asking if you can import a Table instead. I wanted to know whether connecting to Access to import a table was working for you, is all.

Ahhh....troubleshooting. Good idea. I was just stuck thinking one way.

I will try one of the source tables. I will let you know.

Thanks again.

Yes, Glenn.

When I got external data from a table it worked as expected.

Guess I will work on make table option.

Thanks - cheers!

You can create a DSN, that might work - use the "Get external data" wizard rather than the "get data from access" button.

Thank you for the idea.
I tried to link to a table instead of the query. That worked, so I am going with a make table query.
More than one way to defur a feline and all.
Thanks again.
