Trying to create external links between 2 workbooks. A range of cells in workbook A, to the same range in workbook B. I've entered the path; '[A.xlsx]PO DATA'!Transaction, "Transaction" is the name of the cells A4:A999. I have also tried using the exact reference of each cell, but when I press enter, the result is not referencing the cell/s in workbook A, only results with the text of the path?
Clearly I'm missing something, please help.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Did you try as post #18?
Yes I did, and strangely I have another workbook that has links to a source workbook, and it works fine?
Did you try as post #18?
Finally, it's working! I was fighting to remove the apostrophe at the front of the equal sign, back and forth between formatting of text vs general, now I have it; ='[2022_Invoice B2C.xlsx]PO DATA'!A4, no $ signs, and when I drag the cell down, it copies the formula and links correctly. I don't know how heavy so many links will make the workbook, I will play around with naming the range and linking it. Thank you for all your help.
