Trying to create external links between 2 workbooks. A range of cells in workbook A, to the same range in workbook B. I've entered the path; '[A.xlsx]PO DATA'!Transaction, "Transaction" is the name of the cells A4:A999. I have also tried using the exact reference of each cell, but when I press enter, the result is not referencing the cell/s in workbook A, only results with the text of the path?
Clearly I'm missing something, please help.

Which is the "source" workbook: the one where you set the link (the formula) or the one you should get the data from?
What happens if you use the formula
Excel Formula:
='[2022_Invoice B2C.xlsx]PO DATA'!A2:A10
?

Excel Facts

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney

So the source workbook is the one I'm proposing where the data originates from.

Also, try the formula in a new, empty workbook
I just tried that, still no link from the source workbook. I'm going to try putting the 2 workbooks in the same folder and see it that helps, I will let you know.

Did you try the formula with the named range or with A2:A10?

From a new, empty workbook, in cell A2
-trpe = to start the formula
-using Alt-Tab go to the "source workbook" 2022_Invoice B2C.xlsx
-select a sheet, select A2:A10
-type Enter

Which formula is in A2 of the new workbook?
