Hi,

I have a spreadsheet with a lot of external references to a file on a network. I want to change the network path. However, when I select all cells and use the built-in Replace function, it wants to go cell by cell and open the source file. Is there a way to turn this off so I can do a simple text replace?

Thanks

Jeff

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Use Find/Replace to kill all your formulas. replace = with a dummy character, like #. Now you just have a bunch of text strings that you can edit via text replace. Lastly, replace all # with = and your formulas are restored.

Sadly, the same problem happens when you replace the # with the =. There seems to be no way around this. Each cell has a reference.

Probably best then to open the source file(s) first, then rename the links, then you won't see s delay
