extract all text after a variable

good morning all. I have a excel sheet, a build log. and the people that create tend to change the format so in order to get the text I need I first look for a ":" which triggers the start position of the text I need to capture. I then save that point to a variable which I then to use. my question is, how to I write the code to take all text after that variable. below is the code I have

colonLoc = InStr(Cells(adjLow + 2, 3), ":")
'*********ADJUST FOR NEW BUILD LOG STRUCTURE**************************
                                                            
'6.3.---POWDER LOT NUMBER                                                             
     pLnm = Right(Cells(adjLow + 2, 3).Value, colonLoc) 'adjusted                           
     PLN.Caption = pLnm '

Just use Mid without a length parameter:

pLnm = Mid(Cells(adjLow + 2, 3).Value, colonLoc + 1)

It defaults to "the rest of the string"

I wish the MID function on the spreadsheet worked the same way.
