I have this string:
Code:
[ 8 ]  Sun Apr-12-20 - Sat Apr-25-20

I am looking for a vba solution to assign variable 'tg' to equal the number (double) that is extracted from between the two square brackets. This number is dynamic, and could be one or two digits.

Excel Facts

Pivot Table Drill Down
Double-click any number in a pivot table to create a new report showing all detail rows that make up that number
Try this

VBA Code:
Sub extract_text()
  Dim sText As String
  sText = "[ 8 ]  Sun Apr-12-20 - Sat Apr-25-20"
  MsgBox Val(Trim(Left(Replace(Replace(sText, "[", ""), "]", Space(99)), 99)))
End Sub
