Extracting data before the dash

I have the following data below whixch I need to extraxct the data before the dash (-)

KO-4679855
CISCO-85590
TLXN-859

I tried using the formula =LEFT(A2)&-FIND("-",A2), but it returns an incorrect result

Your assistance will be most appreciated

This is the formula you are looking for...

=LEFT(A2,FIND("-",A2&"-")-1)

Note that this formula can be copied down through cells where Column A's values are blank without showing an error.
