extracting data within a string

Hi,

How do I extract the letters between the dot and the space on the following example

Column A1 - Always Here.com - 1234
Column B1 - com (need formula here)

The letters to be extracted will not always be 3, but it will always be between the dot and the space.

One way:

=LEFT(MID(A1,FIND(".",A1)+1,100),FIND(" ",MID(A1,FIND(".",A1)+1,100)))

Assumes there will only be a single "dot" in the string.

Here's one way:
=MID(A1,FIND(".",A1)+1,FIND(" ",A1,FIND(".",A1))-FIND(".",A1)-1)
