Extracting Hidden Reference Data

Hi,
A lecturer of mine uses a very sophisticated spreadsheet to determine the answers to an engineering assignment which is based on student numbers etc. Now that the semester is over he has created a second spreadsheet containing everyone's marks which uses a pivot table referring to the external file mentioned above.

As the pivot table file was so large, I opened it in notepad, and could read all of the worksheet names from the external reference file - from what I have read the program makes some sort of hidden copy.

Is there any way of extracting the reference file which seems to be hidden inside? I would be very keen to see how his spreadsheet works.

Thanks,
Simon.

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
So, you are trying to break in to a spreadsheet belonging to a lecturer of yours then? Or have I got that wrong?????
