Extracting names from cell which come before "/"

Hi,

I have a list of names of varying character length in cells and would like to extract just the name.

Eg.

John Smith/Excel
Peter Wood/Excel
Jim Bell/Excel

How can I just extract the name from the cell.

So I need a formula that will give me:

John Smith
Peter Wood
Jim Bell

=LEFT(A3,FIND("/",A3)-1)

=LEFT(A1, FIND("/", A1)-1)
(where your data is in A1)
