Extracting semesters from a range of dates (start/end date)

Hello there!

I have a new problem that I am trying to solve.. Been at it for a couple of hours and can't seem to find anything that corresponds to what I'm trying to achieve. Hence, my apologies in advance for the bad explanation!

Basically, I have a start and an end date, say in A1 and A2. What I would like to do is to extract the semestrial intervals in different columns. This should not be relative and should cut off from the fixed calender dates of 1/1 and 7/1. Example

If my start/end date are 5/1/2021 and 8/1/2022 I would like to have cells populate as follows:

Semseter 1 - 5/1/2021 -- 6/30/2021
Semester 2 - 7/1/2021 -- 31/12/2021
Semester 3 - 1/1/2022 -- 6/30/2022
Semester 4 - 7/1/2022 -- 8/1/2022

The format that is returned from the start/end date doesn't really matter as long as the corresponding number of cells is populated (in this case 4). Worst case, It could just be "Semester 1 2021", "Semester 2 2021".... Displaying the actual date would just be a "nice-to-have".

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!
