Hello.

If you have a formula that, for example, is +A1+A2 in cell A3, you can place the cursor in A3, press F2 to edit and cells A1 and A2 are highlighted each with different colors, maybe blue and green.
This highlight functionality helps you to understand which cells are affecting your formula.
Well... My Excel stopped doing just that! I press F2 and does not highlight! It makes checking formulas very difficult!

I ask: Is it a bug in my Excel or have I unselect something somewhere?
Help!

Thank You

Excel Facts

Fastest way to copy a worksheet?
Hold down the Ctrl key while dragging tab for Sheet1 to the right. Excel will make a copy of the worksheet.
Do you have a Fn (function) key? If so, does Fn+F2 solve the issue?

BTW, I suggest that you update your Account details (click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Thanks but it does not. It's a regular keyboard. And I've already checked File-Options-Advanced and 'Enable Fill handle...' is checked!
Planning on using a VBA enforce (Application.EditDirectlyInCell = True), but even if it worked I would have to do that in every Workbook, something rather complicated and does not explain what happened, does it?

Well... I had to shut down everything and that solved the problem! Should have started there but thanks anyway.
Solved.
