Hi! I am trying to check to see if a file exists within a webportal, local connection required, and I keep getting an error. I have created a test document on the site and I cannot seem to pick up that the file is there.

Any Ideas?

Here is my code for reference:

Rich (BB code):
Private Sub CommandButton3_Click()
    Dim addressName As String
    Dim fName As String
            fName = ThisWorkbook.Name

            addressName = "http://Webportal/documents/test form.xls" & fName
 'for testing purposes:
            MsgBox (fName)
            MsgBox (addressName) ' spacing error for &fName
'tried this option
        If Len(Dir("http://webportal/documents/test form.xls")) > 0 Then
  MsgBox ("FOUND FILE")
 Else
  MsgBox ("FILE MISSING still")
 End If
'Second Option
        If File_Exists(addressName) = True Then
             MsgBox "You have the most current version of the Form"
        Else
             MsgBox "A more current version of this Form Exists."
        End If
end sub

Private Function File_Exists(ByVal sPathName As String, Optional Directory As Boolean) As Boolean
'Returns True if the passed sPathName exist
'Otherwise returns False
    On Error Resume Next
    If sPathName <> "" Then
        If IsMissing(Directory) Or Directory = False Then
            File_Exists = (Dir$(sPathName) <> "")
        Else
            File_Exists = (Dir$(sPathName, vbDirectory) <> "")
        End If
    End If
End Function

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
