I have a file with many formulas linked to another file. I want to change the name of the source file, but I beleive this will render all my formulas as invalid. Is there an easier or more preferred way than using search and replace to update the new file name in the affected formulas?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
If you change the name of your source file, then open up your file with the links to the source file. When you open it and you are ask whether or not you want to update the links, do not update links. Then go to the edit menu, and select Links..., near the bottom of the menu. Then highlight all of your links that are pointing to the source file that you just changed the name on. After you have highlighted each link, press the Change Source button, and click on the name of the source file that your links need to be linked to. This should change the name of the source file contained in your formulas that have links to the source file, while leave the cell references as they are.

You will have to select the source file for each individual link until the process is complete.
