File Sharing Problems

Here is what I need to do that I am unable to easily do:

I have created & saved an excell file on my pc at work. I need to save this file onto a CD. I then need to put this CD in my laptop, open the file, make changes, and save back to the CD. Then I need to take the CD back to my pc at work, open the file, print it, make changes, save it, etc.

I am not able to do this without creating a new file on each computer, which gets confusing. The first problem I encounter is when I try to open the file I saved on the CD. It comes up read-only every time. The file was not read-only when I created & saved it on my work pc. I did not save it to the CD as read-only. But it comes up as such. I am then not able to change the CD file to a read-write--it won't let me.

How can I work with one file on multiple computers without having to create a different file ever time?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
Hi SarahThom , Welcome To The Board.

Strange

How about e-mailing your file to your laptop ?????
