File size

I am working in a workbook with about 15 tabs, approximately 10 pivot ables and a multitude of sumifs/vlookup formulas. I'm not sure what the source of the problem is, but something has caused the file size to blow up to over 250,000 KB (in xlsx format). This is causing my entire computer to slow down to the point that it makes it very difficult to get any work done.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to reduce the file size? It is a complex workbook, but not so much so that I would expect it to slow things down as much as it does.

Thanks.

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Hey,

It is because of the Pivot tables, they are storing the information is memory for when you alter the information etc thats why you have to refresh a pivot when changing the sorce.

to reduce the size you might want to reduce the pivot tables or try to incorporate 2 pivot tables into one.

Is there a trick to properly deleting pivot table? I have reduced the number of pivots in my workbrook from 9 to 3, but it seems to have had only a very minor affect on file size.

Its hard to say really need to look at alot of things on it, see if you can simplify any of it. sometimes easier to get a better processer in your computer :P

but i have noticed in the past it is the pivot tables that start making it larger quickly
