File tags for picture files

How to Read/ Write File Tags for images from vba ....Any ideas on accessing in VBA the file tags used by album programs to search for files. I can get at comments for MS files and get at comments for non MS files ( that do not show with file dialogs ) .I would hope to be able to read write the section of tags used by most picture handling programs trhough vba Excel.
