Hi folks,

I'm having quite the dilemma. A former co-worker burned a working excel file onto CD (and e-mailed it). It's something I was working when I was with the company and they've asked me to try and make some adjustments. The file opens and works perfectly fine on his computer, and on others in his office (they use excel 2000). On my work computer and my computer at home it says the file is damaged and then it repairs. When it does this I lose a ton of crucial stuff that I really need. (I use excel 2003 at home and work)

I've tried having him delete certain unnecessary sheets, all graphics, deleting the macros, re-naming it and saving it...a whole bunch of different things. I just still can't get what I need.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation that might be able to offer me some tips?

Would it have anything to do with the two different versions of excel?

Any insight would be most appreciated!

Thanks.
