filing in number sequences

i have ar report in which firs column begins with the first row but i want to make it as the second row , any easy way to do this, of couse this would be may more records and i dont want o fill individually, also spaces will vary depending on how much info is on below each number in the remainin columns

Excel Facts

Back into an answer in Excel
Use Data, What-If Analysis, Goal Seek to find the correct input cell value to reach a desired result
Try selecting the column in question.

Then Edit>Goto...Special... and select blanks.

Then in the formula bar put =A1, or whatever the cell is for the first record.

Then press CTRL+ENTER.

That should fill in the blanks.

i want to value to be equal to the last value not only the first a1

in other words this is employee numbers and i want them filled

Can you post an example of your data and required result, perhaps using Colo's HTML Maker?

problem is first column has emp number and next colume have data

login
break
training
190444
missing
102233
lunch
clockout
missing



* i want my file to have emp # , missing
i know if the emp number was in front of missing i could complete this easier, this file is 10 pages long ( this is only sample. but what im looking for is employees missing.

soory when it post info comes in 1 collume even thougth i spaced it to look in second
only numbers should be in first cna breaks lunch missing etc in second
