Hi,

I have a pretty simple problem and was hoping someone could help me out here please.

I have a customer ID in column A, Customer name in column B.

The data is sorted with ascending customer ID (Column a)

Now in Column C I have customer ID again but these are in a random order.

What I want to do is show the customers in Column D matching the customer ID in column C. is this possible?

Thanks a million.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Welcome to the board.

Assuming your Customer IDs are unique, you could use this formula in column D and copy down:
Code:
=VLOOKUP(C1,A:B,2,0)
