I recently upgraded from 2000 to 2007, now the following macro will not work. and ideas why?

Dim lastA As Long, currCol As Long
lastA = Range("A65536").End(xlUp).Row
currCol = ActiveCell.Row
Cells(currCol, ActiveCell.Column).Activate
With ActiveCell
If ActiveCell.Row > lastA Then
MsgBox "But you are below col A?!"
Exit Sub
End If
Range(ActiveCell.Address, Cells(lastA, ActiveCell.Column)).FillDown
End With

End Sub

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.
Try

Code:
lastA = Range("A" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row

(there are more than 65,536 rows in XL 2007).
