Hi everyone,

I'm currently working with a database that has a column with an ID number, but there are some empty cells in between them. Database is sorted in ascending but as I said before there are some empty spaces that I fill manually by dragging the cell until I find the next value and so on. I was wondering if there is a formula or a tip to do this automatically because every time I have to work with a database I have to do this process before making any calculation as all this rows are missing the ID value in their row.

I don't know if I explained myself clearly but to make this clearer I attach a screen shot.

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Glad we could help & thanks for the feedback.
