Fill Handle Settings/Issue

In Excel 2007, when I do a fill down or use the fill handle, it copies the text into the "hidden" rows as well as the visible rows.

What settings or procedures do I have to do to "fill down" in a filtered list to only copy to the visible rows? I already know about the "F5" and select special cells option, but I need the "fill handle" to do it.

Do any of the MVPs have a solution for this?

What are you trying to fill down? If I drag down a filtered list, I only get the copies in the visible rows, but there is no fill option.

The information I am trying to fill down is simply data like a date, a number, and letter. In excel 97-2003 is does it just fine, but in Excel 2007-2010 is populates the hidden cells as well when I do a filter.
