Filling a column with a formula past the active cells?

I have a spreadsheet that has several columns. One of the columns has a formula derived from the other columns (and some math with today()).

The spreadsheet is a log that will have new rows added to it every few days.

Every time I add a new row, I have to go copy the formula to the new row. Is there a way to make the formula automatically copy to the new row? I know that I can fill thousands of row with the column but then the spreadsheet becomes much larger due to the new number of active rows.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Greg

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hi Greg, welcome to the board.
One thing you can try is this.
Say the formula is in column E, and you need it to autofill down to the last used cell in column D. Select the cell with the last formula you have in ColE. Then hover the mouse over the small black square at the lower right of the selected cell until the curser changes to the small black +. Then simply double click while the curser looks like that and it should autofill your formula down to the end of the used range in the column to the left of it, (ColD).

There are a number of other ways to get the same result, but this one's quick & requires no code.
Hope it helps,
Dan
