Hello,

I'd like to be able to filter a spreadsheet based on values in another spreadsheet, or list. Is there any way to do this? I'm looking at advanced filters, but can't work it out.

To be clear, I have a spreadsheet with 12,000 records and want to filter by a certain group of customers. I know I could create a vlookup, but I feel like there should be a way to create the filter so I don't have to do a vlookup all the time.

Thanks,
Roger

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
I figured this out via advanced filter.

It appears that you can't have the list for the filter on a different sheet than the sheet you're actually filtering.
