Filter drop down disappeared on Pivot Table

I have an issue with the filter drop down in Pivot tables. When I put a field in the filters box of the pivot table, I don't get an option to click on a drop down to change the filter. I can manually type in the filters, but that won't help if I need multiple options in the filter. How do I fix this issue?
