I am trying to eliminate duplicates in a database of approx. 30,000 leads. How can I filter the data so only matching names appear? For each lead, I have the propect's name, address, and the date they contacted us.

I greatly appreciate any help that anyone can offer. There might even be free ice cream for the person with a solution (if they live in the US).

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Run Advanced Filter on your data from within the destination sheet with the Unique records only option checked.

I've tried, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Assuming that you want to extract unique records from a data area in a source sheet, make sure that every column of data has a distinctly formatted (bold and in italic, for example) header.

Activate the destination sheet.
Activate Data|Filter|Advanced Filter.
Check the option Copy to another location.
Select the whole data area while in the box for List range.
Leave the box for Criteria range empty.
Select a cell from the destination sheet while in the box for Copy to.
Check the Unique records only option.
Click OK.

Hi,

What do you mean by "matching names"? Are you trying to match non-duplicated data with a filtered list?
