Filtering a split range

Hi All,

I have a worksheet with values in columns A to Z.

From AA to AZ are cells used in macros whose references cannot be changed.

I now find that I need more cells for my data, so I'll use BA to BZ for the continuation of the data.

I often use filters to sort my data and need to know how to filter this split range so that the rows in A to Z stay fixed together with their BA to BZ conterparts while AA to AZ do not move.

How do I select a split range to be sorted and filtered?

Thanks in advance.

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
Sorry, but I don't believe you can do that.

Why can't you adapt the macro to to use different columns for what you currently have in columns AA to AZ?

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately I have possibly more than 100 very convoluted macros using references in that space.

OK... there is another way. The extra data that I want to store is for a correspondance log, for a database. I think what I'll do is set up a separate sheet just for the log entries, then use the client's ID's to access the right records for them. This would bypass the whole filtering debacle!

Or do you have any other suggestions?

No, I don't have any particular suggestions since I don't know much about just what you have and what you are trying to do.
