Finacial year - automatic formula change

Hopefully this should be simple.....

What I am attempting to achieve is to have my financial year change cell update automatically, so I don't have to bother every year changing the cell from 1-Apr-2011 to 1-Apr-2012.

All ideas greatfully accepted.

Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.

=DATE(IF(TODAY()>DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),3,31),YEAR(TODAY()),YEAR(TODAY())-1),4,1)

Try something like:

=DATE(IF(TODAY()<DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),4,1),YEAR(TODAY())-1,YEAR(TODAY())),4,1)
Instead of having that in a cell you might want to use that as a name in your workbook.
