Find and replace, cells colors

Excel Facts

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Hmm, I don't think so.

Programmatically it's not that bad to code.

For the casual user though I would suggest defining a style whose only definition is pattern. Then apply this style wherever you want. If you want to change colors in the future, then you just need to modify they style.

See my posting on sort by color macro (use the search feature/link of this web site).

Run the sort, change the color easier since the rows are all sorted for you.

Hi,
It's possible (using the menu "Edit"==> "Find & Replace") to find cells with a color & replace by other color?

Yes, you can, at least in Excel 2007 or later. Simply click the Format pulldown button and choose the style. A detailed walkthrough is at Replacing Background Colors in Cells (Microsoft Excel)

(note: I'm resurrecting this thread because I landed here after a Google search, and I image other users will too. Maybe in earlier versions of Excel you couldn't do this, but in 2007 you can).
