Hi

I need help

I have reports exctracted into excel from an unchangeable in house system that i need to turn in to concise reports in a certain format. The reports contain lots of useless data and I need to get rid of it and move around what i do need. The data is under headings that are constant (and always in the same order) in every report but the cell location of the headings changes depending on how much has been entered under the headings above. I need find certain headings and copy everything in that row and every row beneth it down to the first empty row.

Can anybody help?

thanks

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Search for heading

I think you have to use loop to search for heading and then a range selection. but I'm not an expert :-)

Hi, jcw78
Welcome to the Board !!!!!

do you mean you want to find certain items in column A
then copy the rows till empty cell in column A to new sheet ?

some tips
1. have a look in the helpfiles for FIND, CURRENTREGION, COPY, PASTE
2. do a search on the board
3. record your macro
4. if you need more help, provide an example to work with
little example with "easy symbolic data" + expected result

kind regards,
Erik

Hi & thanks,

The headings i want to search on are in the same column - column B
I want to find certain ones, cut everthing underneath them (varying number of rows) and paste them to a different area on the same sheet.

thanks

hi,
what did you do with my tips ?
if more help needed see my 4. tip
expresssions like "certain ones" &"different area" are way to vague to work with
