find dynamic row number

Hello everyone,

I try to find the row number for a word, say, "car", in column A. The rows above "car" keep changing (row deleting or inserting). How can I locate that row number, which I will need for other formulas?

Sorry I forgot. Index+match should be the way to go.

Not quite sure what you mean, you seem to have answered your own question - match is the way to go and should do what you need
