Hi,

I'm trying to use the find function in VBA, but need the "what" to reference a variable rather than the actual search text. In this instance the variable is called "ModuleNo" which contains the name "M123456". VBA doesn't appear to be able to use the variable in this way. Any ideas?

This works:
Range("A1:Z500").Find(What:="M123456", LookIn:=xlValues).Select

This doesn't
Range("A1:Z500").Find(What:=ModuleNo, LookIn:=xlValues).Select

Excel Facts

Create a Pivot Table on a Map
If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
Works fine for me, what are your settings in the Find dialog?

Happy you have got it working but omitting the variable shouldn't make a difference (if you declared it wrong it would but not omitting it)

Yes, you're right....hmmm. It must have been a typo on my part and/or the number wasn't found. Thanks anyway though.
