Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
"i would like to find the starting value the copy each cell that contains a value "

Copy to where?

"So in this example column a would have 26.375 then copy each row down "

It might be clear to you why this is the case, but is isn't to me :)

Care to post back with a few more details...

What I am trying to do is condense 22 columns into 2 one will be the feet and inches column converted to inches the other will be the numbers column
in the example the starting point is 2'-2'3/8 with 162,080 representing the gallons for that gauge so on a new worksheet i would like to copy any cell that has a number in it and the inches. so in example the new worksheet in cell a2 would be the value 26.375 b2 would have 162,080

hope i explained myself better

A little, but you've still lost me!

I get the 2 ft 2 3/8 inch bit (as in col B for 2ft, a18 for the 2 inch & a20 for the 3/8
I get the 162,080 - a look up from a20 to the value in col B, being the first cell with data in the column
I (think I) get the 26.375 bit - decimal inches for 2" 2' 3/8.

still lost on this bit:

"so on a new worksheet i would like to copy any cell that has a number in it and the inches. so in example the new worksheet in cell a2 would be the value 26.375 b2 would have 162,080"

...I don't get how these relate. in the example you posted, many cells have values - cell B20 just happens to be the 'first'. You say you want to copy "any" - what haoppens to the rest? What do you want in B3 etc?

go down the column until blank then start back at the next two columns and copy that data to the new worksheet. this will continue until 22 columns of data has been pasted into 2 columns i will end up looking like this
