Hi,

Ive got 3000 rows in column A and i want to find and extract the letter x in each cell. The X, i am looking for will only appear as the fifth character (although the cell may have the letter "x" elsewhere in it)
So what i would like is for a formula/VB to look in the fifth character of each cell in column A and put it in the adjacent cell in column B.
Ive tried Left, right and len functions but the length of the text in each cell is different. Any ideas on how to do this?

Many Thanks

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
