I am trying to find the last column in a worksheet based on the first empty cell in row 2. The below works based on row 1, but not sure how to direct it to the row 2. Can anyone help?

Sheets("testing").Cells(1, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft)

Excel Facts

Will the fill handle fill 1, 2, 3?
Yes! Type 1 in a cell. Hold down Ctrl while you drag the fill handle.
Hi there,

Change your 1 to a 2. That is the row number to look at.

Code:
Sheets("testing").Cells(2, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft)

You would need to cahnge the row index of 1 to 2 like below:

Rich (BB code):
("testing").Cells(2,Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft)
Hope that helps.

That's what I thought, but is not retrieving correct column. If I have merged cells, will it consider the rightmost one as empty?

Ugh. I hate merged cells. It will be the left cell of the merged range it sees.
