I've been trying to figure out how to get the last cell used in a column and I keep getting a blank cell that is way far down then where the last used cell actually resides. I thought it might be a formatting issue so I highlighted the cell and in excel, went to edit, and clear out all the contents and saved the file. But now the next "used" cell was a couple rows down from that. Is there anyway to find the last cell with data in it, like a string or int?

Hope someone can help :).

Oh, I'm using the code

int nLastRow = m_oSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count;

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

Thanks, helped a lot. Here's my C# calls using object library 11.0

// Find the last real row
nInLastRow = oSheet.Cells.Find("*",System.Reflection.Missing.Value,
System.Reflection.Missing.Value, System.Reflection.Missing.Value, Excel.XlSearchOrder.xlByRows,Excel.XlSearchDirection.xlPrevious, false,System.Reflection.Missing.Value,System.Reflection.Missing.Value).Row;

// Find the last real column
nInLastCol = oSheet.Cells.Find("*", System.Reflection.Missing.Value, System.Reflection.Missing.Value,System.Reflection.Missing.Value, Excel.XlSearchOrder.xlByColumns,Excel.XlSearchDirection.xlPrevious, false,System.Reflection.Missing.Value,System.Reflection.Missing.Value).Column;
