### Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
If the number is in cell A1 and the list in in range B1:B10, type this foemula in any other cell:

=SUMIF(B1:B10,A1)

Let A2:A10 be the first vertical range and B2:B10 the second.

In C2 enter & copy down:

=COUNTIF(\$B\$2:\$B\$10,A2)
