Finding number of Mondays from a list of dates before today

Hello, I am trying to find a formula to show me how many Mondays, Tuesdays etc in a list of dates but only counting the ones on or before today.
I came up with this, but it doesn't work.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(WEEKDAY(A24:A369)=2),"<="&$D$1)

A24:A369 is the list of dates and D1 is =TODAY()
