Finding the negative number from 2 cells

how to display the negative number in cell C2 from cell A2 and B2 and A3 and B3 ect
example A2 B2 C2
23 34 -10
27 17 -10
12 13 -1
22 20 -2

i would do
ABS(A2-B2)*-1
but is suspect an easier way

ABS() will result in a positive number regardless if + or -
and then multiply by -1
always give a minus result

BUT , i assume a typo
23 34 -10
= -11

Thank you etaf. That worked I did try =ABS but didn't think about the *-1
