First Page Number &[Pages] Issue

Hi all,

How can I support the use of Page X of Y i.e. &[Pages] for scenarios where the first page number starts from other than 1?

For e.g. if I start the numbering from 2, and if there's two pages, then the numbering should read Page 2 of 3, Page 3 of 3.

Instead it reads Page 2 of 2, Page 3 of 2.

I guess for this example I need to tell Excel to add 1 to the &[Pages] tag. Is this possible if not is there any other solution/workaround?

Thanks

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
ok so I went the Insert tab in excel

I select "text"

then selected Headers and Footers

I added the page and then the pages options

I put a space between the two

step out. Tells me the page number and the total page numbers in the footer (starting with page 1)

Step back into the headers (click inside)

Add a +1 after the ] in the page and the same after the ] in pages

I step out now both my page number and my total pages are increased by 1 each.

I can even add the word of between the two options and I get the page number of the total number of pages.

&[Page]+1 & of &[Pages]+1

&[Page]+1 & of &[Pages]+1

It only works for the &[Page] expression for me. For the expression &[Pages], it concatenates it, so instead of 3 (2+1), I see 21 displayed.

The only way I can get your results is if I do not put in the + sign

so

&[Page]+5 & of &[Pages]5

give me a concatenation of the pages and the number 5.

It gives me concatenation both ways. Must be a local issue with my software. I'll try another machine and get back.
