I have a problem with the ability to copy a form button that I created.

When I right-click and select copy, it tries to refer to a different workbook.

I get the following error.

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.
Do you have any Event Code in the Sheet's Code Module?

Is it possible that this is an ActiveX button instead of a Form Control button?

This is a new file I created, so no event code. I just create a forms button, but it has the same problem with any other forms objects. Seems really strange. If I right click a text field and copy, it works fine.

thanks.

Is the file that it was trying to open a file name that is familiar to you or some file you never heard of before?

Is the file mentioned where the macro assigned to the button resides?
Are there any formulas or names in the workbook that refer to that file?

Yes, it appears that is where the macro resides. But I am starting with a new blank worksheet. How is that association being made?

I can look at the names, is there an easy way to see if there is any linking?

thanks.

Found the culprit. The form control id:19 has been reassigned. I used a little commandbar add-in to display the link.

How do I get rid of this.
