Form Control Check Box

Hi all,
Is there a way to have cell A1 populate with data dependant on two form control check boxes below it (say in cells A3 and A4). If the checkbox in the form control in cell A3 is selected, cell A1 populates with the word "New", if the checkbox in cell A4 is selected, cell A1 populates with a different value.

Is this possible, I have never really worked with form controls other than a box you can select to run a macro.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

If you want to be able to select only one or the other, I'd probably use Radio Buttons. You can set the linked cell property and refer to it:

=IF(A2=1,"New","Old")

Where 1 is the value of the first option button.

If you want to use check boxes, you'd need to link them to different cells and refer to those cells' True/False value as the check boxes are clicked.

Thanks Smitty,
Was missing the linking the cell aspect. Radio buttons work perfectly in this scenario!!

Actually have another question.

In the above example, what if I then wanted to be able to do the same thing in Column B with a different set of radio buttons, populating Cell B1. Currently, if I add more radio buttons, they are all linked to column A.

Is there a way to do radio buttons pertaining to different columns, or do all radio buttons within a worksheet tie in together?

You can draw a group box on the sheet, then add your option buttons to it. Once you assign the cell link you can group them together. Either repeat the process, or just copy and paste the new ones.
