Format cell to only show date

I receive a spreadsheet now and then with date columns that only show the date and when you select the cell you see date and time. I need to only see the date as the time being there in sort of phantom mode seems to mess up some formulas.

Any suggestions?

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN

There are many different date/time formats you can choose, or create your own using the Custom option (i.e. MM/DD/YYYY). This is all found under Format | Cells | Number.

You can also the use TEXT function, though then it will change the format to be Text, not Date, i.e.

=TEXT(A1,"MM/DD/YYYY")

I would be intersested in seeing your formulas though, as just changing the format shouldn't have any affect on then.

If you have date and time in A1 and you want to use just the date in another formula use

=INT(A1)
