The units I see when setting column width using mouse and drag >|< (pixels?) is different than the units I see when I set column width using Format/Column/width (inches?). How do I set Excel to show the same units in both places? Or what is the ratio?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
From the Excel Bible:
- columns: default 8.43 units (the number of monospaced font characters fitting in that width) = 64 px
- rows: 72 pt = 1 inch and default 15 pt or 20 px.

And I am not aware it would be different on MAC.
Hope that helps.

Thanks BUT.....
When I to set column width by draging the column >|< and stop when it says 10 I get a column about an inch wide. If I try to set column width using Format/Column/Column Width and set it to 10 I get a very wide column. Something like 10 inches. I'm trying to find a way where if I set it to 10 either way, I get the same results (~ 1" wide)
