Format Entire Column

I am trying to format an entire column od date data.

Code: 
Columns("B").Selection.NumberFormat = "d-mmm-yy"

is giving me an error.

Hey Steve ... thanks for your suggestion, but still getting the error message "Object dosen't support this property or method."

I don't don't why "select" and "selection" are thorns in my side all the time.
